What if true luxury were emotion?

A 2001 graduate of EMLV, Alexandre Blanc has been working at Cartier for nine years, where he guides decisive moments, cultivates lasting relationships, and proves every day that emotional intelligence is the most beautiful of skills.

In this hushed world where every detail tells a story, he has made curiosity, discipline, and interpersonal skills the pillars of his success. His credo: create unique experiences and leave a lasting impression on the customer's life.

What are your current responsibilities at Cartier? What are your current challenges?

As a Senior Sale Associate, my main responsibility is my clients. I have to nurture the current client portfolio while developing a pipeline of new opportunities. Internally within our flagship boutique I took on the mission of Watch Ambassador which gives me a lot of pleasure to share my passion.

What do you particularly enjoy about this job? What are the key factors for success in this job?

After few years in Sport Marketing, then an entrepreneurial experience, it has been great to operate (for the last 9 years) with a strong platform like the Richemont group. It gives me the tools to success.

The luxury market offers exposure to high worth individuals, I act as a celebrant and offer unique experiences creating long term bonds!

Was there a decisive or significant moment in your professional career? A moment when you said to yourself, “Now I've really made an impact”?

It might sound ‘cliché’ but it is every day! When you can have an impact on people life (milestones) it gives you instant reward! As I often say « spread the love ». My job doesn’t request technical skills, emotional intelligence creates every day beauty.

What professional or personal skills have you developed through this international experience?

Having worked in several countries (France, Australia, Switzerland, U.K.) and industries, my experience to date taught me: with curiosity and discipline you will adapt to any environment as long as you endorse diversity!

What would you have liked to hear from an alumnus when you graduated?

There is no wrong decison, take on opportunities as they present. You might not enjoy them all, while in it… thought when you will look back in 10, 15 or 20 years from now, you will know which job is right for you. There is no better way to know than to go!
