Afterwork in Geneva: A crossroads of memories and new ambitions
The sun was out, and so were the Alumni! Geneva, at the crossroads of French-speaking Switzerland and the French Alps, was the venue for the annual meeting of the region's alumni. It was a hot evening, both in terms of temperature and conviviality!
Coming from Fribourg, Annecy and elsewhere, graduates rediscovered the convivial atmosphere that is the strength of this community. Far from being just an informal get-together, the event was an opportunity to rekindle memories, share inspiring stories and forge new bonds.
When affinities transcend time
Golden hour, a drink in hand and a few planks to share: perfect for rekindling connections.
In a relaxed atmosphere, the region's alumni gathered at Les Halles de l'Île, an emblematic venue nestled between the Quartier des Banques and the old town: warm, lively and steeped in history - just like everyone's career path.
Discussions flowed naturally: some knew each other well - a shared graduating class, a familiar face crossed on campus, a former ESILV lecturer (and alumni) based in Geneva (Thomas Oili). And those who were meeting for the first time. Memories of the “Léonard” years quickly resurfaced, with anecdotes about key professors and seminal experiences that helped shape each person's career path. Discussions highlighted international career paths - with TotalEnergies, MSC Cruises, EY, and many others - as well as career prospects in the dynamic French-speaking market for graduates & students currently interning in Geneva and looking for their next professional adventure.
From class to network
Beyond the memories shared, these reunions are always an opportunity to talk about the Pôle's news, developments and ambitions.
To bring these exchanges to life and keep the momentum going over the long term, Laura Wehbe (ESILV 2019), leader of the Romandie alumni group, invites all graduates in the region to join the dedicated WhatsApp group to stay informed of upcoming events and local news!
