Yann Aboud Jaoudé (ESILV 2021), Project Manager at Airbus

Alumni ESILV

Yann Abou Jaoudé, who graduated from ESILV in 2021, returned to campus for the 2025 Alumni Fair. Now a Process Manager at Airbus, he shares a career path marked by versatility, a passion for aeronautics, and community involvement. From LéoFly to national projects, Yann looks back on the advantages that the school has given him and offers advice to those who are still searching for their path, between ambition, curiosity, and audacity.

How did your studies at ESILV contribute to who you are today?

I am a Process Manager at Airbus. With my background as a Data Scientist, I didn't expect to find a job that ultimately requires so little technical expertise. I was given this opportunity because I had attended a fairly generalist school, which also allowed me to develop soft skills. So I already had all the vocabulary I needed.

As a former member of the Léofly association, I think the association helped me get my job: it was a point of interest that carried me through half of my interview! The association still plays a big part in my life today, and I have a lot of personal activities that are still somewhat related to it, whether with CNES, the Perséus project, or Planète Sciences. I got to know those through LéoFly, and I still meet up with past and present members who follow these events!

Can you tell us about your job? What aspects do you particularly enjoy?

I determine the optimal processes and which steps can be eliminated between the moment an order is placed, and the moment a product is delivered. I am fortunate to be able to discuss with all stakeholders. This is something I really enjoy and did not necessarily have in my previous positions as a developer or data scientist, where I was really focused on a small part of the project.

What is the current challenge?

It has just been announced in the media: Radio Network of the Future. It is a project led by Airbus, which was used during the Olympic Games and will now be rolled out to other sectors.

It's a nationwide project involving a huge number of stakeholders—3,500 people—so it's obviously very interesting to have an overview of all the services and to ensure that they work together.

What are the key factors for success in this profession? Any advice for getting started?

Lots of soft skills, to understand all the teams and all their jobs. That already requires a lot of adaptability and a lot of people skills!

My advice would be to try to identify your ideal job and the person who has it, in your opinion. Try to get started on that path right away: there's no point in spending years gaining experience in something you don't want to do for the rest of your life.

What does being Alumni mean to you?

First and foremost, it means reconnecting with classmates from previous years! As time goes by, we inevitably lose touch with many students who have the same job and skills as us.

It also means having a certain network. Finding people who have been down the same path before, or people who can be useful because they are looking for the same thing as us today. Typically, looking for interns or apprentices, of course.

I have participated in several Alumni community events: as a student, I already participated in the Alumni Fair, then as an Alumnus last year. And before that, when I was active in associations, we went to London with LéoFly and were able to participate in an Alumni afterwork. It was a lot of fun!

An Alumnus to follow!
