In 2025, the ESILV strengthens its position among the best engineering schools in France by ranking in the top 10 of L’Usine Nouvelle’s list. With campuses in Paris La Défense and Nantes, the school stands out for its generalist approach and its focus on digital technologies.

A benchmark ranking for engineering schools

L’Usine Nouvelle’s annual ranking is a highly anticipated event. For 2025, it evaluates 128 schools accredited by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI), all of which graduate more than 70 students per class. The ranking is based on four major criteria and 15 indicators, including job placement, proximity to businesses, research, and international outreach.

Despite methodological changes, such as the introduction of a new indicator measuring the proportion of graduates working in the industry, the ESILV maintains a strong position. It ranks 9th overall and continues to excel in strategic sectors such as IT, electronics, and telecommunications.

ESILV: no. 1 in IT and digital fields

In 2025, the ESILV secures the top spot among schools specializing in IT, electronics, and telecommunications, a major achievement for this generalist post-baccalaureate engineering school focused on digital innovation. This result highlights its unique offering, which includes:

  • 12 majors, spread across seven fields (finance, IT, robotics, energy, health, etc.).
  • Work-study opportunities starting in the 3rd year, via apprenticeships covering the entire duration of the program.

The school positions itself as a key player in training hybrid engineers capable of addressing challenges related to innovation and skill hybridization.

Rigorous evaluation criteria and a refined methodology

L’Usine Nouvelle’s ranking is known for its rigor. The scoring system allocates points as follows:

  • 30 points for job placement,
  • 25 points for research,
  • 25 points for business proximity,
  • 20 points for international outreach.

Notably, the international criterion was revised in 2025 to rely on more reliable data, such as the percentage of students in double-degree programs. The ESILV ranks 13th for international outreach, enhancing its appeal to students aiming for global careers.

A ranking designed to guide decisions

L’Usine Nouvelle’s ranking is designed as a decision-making tool for both students and companies. Its interactive format allows users to:

  • Sort schools by region or specialty,
  • Compare up to three schools across six different criteria.

The ESILV: a forward-thinking engineering school

By maintaining its place in the top 10, the ESILV reaffirms its central role in training engineers ready to tackle tomorrow’s technological and industrial challenges. Its expertise in IT and digital technologies, combined with its innovative educational model, continues to attract top talent.
