Dounia Arezki (EMLV 2022): an international career dedicated to performance
With seven years of experience in fast-paced environments—the Olympic Games, luxury retail, and digital projects—Dounia Arezki has made a name for herself through her ability to lead high-stakes strategic and operational initiatives. Armed with a PhD and MSc and a wealth of international experience, she now brings to Onepoint an energy, precision, and sense of delivery that make all the difference.
Building a career path: combining academic expertise, international outlook, and ambitious projects
Her career has been an upward trajectory, with each step paving the way for the next.
“First, I completed all my studies in Algeria, where I obtained a doctorate in information technology while working for three years as a technology research officer for the Mediterranean Games,” she explains. This was her first immersion in the world of major events, allowing her to combine technical and operational skills and develop her abilities in demanding contexts.
Then she set her sights on France: "I pursued an MSc in International Business at EMLV, which opened the doors to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee. This experience was extremely enriching, both operationally and personally."
And when asked about her most memorable experience? Without a doubt, it's this one!
"For three years, I held several roles that allowed me to test my ability to adapt and build my confidence. I was based at the Technology Operations Center, where I supervised incidents on more than 30 systems during 12-hour shifts. Handover procedures at the end of each shift, coordination with international teams, and operational requirements taught me rigor, attention to detail, and above all, the importance of teamwork. This experience profoundly transformed me, both personally and professionally."
When vision and operations meet: the strategic role of a Product Owner
Today, Dounia puts her expertise to work for Onepoint, on assignment at Céline.
“I work with two managers on two different areas. My main challenges involve migrating an after-sales solution to Salesforce and maintaining other digital solutions in operational condition.”
Wearing two hats as Product Owner and Cross-Functional Project Manager, she coordinates, unites, and ensures functional consistency and deadlines. But what does she love most of all? Seeing an idea transform into a concrete solution that brings real value to the business. “The direct link between vision, design, and impact motivates me enormously.”
In her view, success is based on three pillars: “the quality of the relationship with the business teams, the ability to unite around a common vision, and the fulfillment of commitments.”
Dare to go international, think “anything is possible”
Going international has been a driving force for Dounia. "English has been an essential tool for communicating effectively with multicultural teams. These experiences have taught me to be adaptable, open-minded, and above all, to have an ‘anything is possible’ mindset."
When faced with obstacles, she sets no limits. Her secret to success? “Focus on learning the language and plan your finances in advance so you can fully enjoy the experience. International mobility is extremely enriching, but it requires preparation and an open mind.”
And the impact of the Pôle's training? "In France, a degree plays a key role in professional integration. EMLV allowed me to learn the codes of the French working world, but also to demonstrate my ability to quickly adapt to local management practices. This training was a real springboard for my career, both in terms of credibility and understanding the French professional context."
The Alumni Network: a key role to play in your career path
My advice to the community? "Step outside your comfort zone and seize international opportunities! Mobility, adaptability, and English language skills open many doors. I would also recommend developing a strong relationship with the business teams, being rigorous in your management and curious in your learning. Finally, don't hesitate to aim for challenging environments: they are often the ones that help us grow the most."
She believes in sharing and networking:
"I met students who were highly motivated and curious, with a lot of ambition. If the opportunity arises—whether for recruitment, mentoring, or a presentation—I would be delighted to contribute in turn and represent my company.
EMLV represents an important step in my career, particularly in terms of gaining a better understanding of how the French job market works. I am happy today to be able to share my experience and provide concrete insights to students and young graduates."
