On Thursday, March 19, alumni and students stepped away from their screens to gather at Wavestone, a partner company of the Cluster, and dive into a hot-button issue: our dependence on the cloud and major platforms. Digital sovereignty is no longer a niche topic, and the network seized the opportunity to discuss, share, and connect.
Performance and Vulnerability: The Downside of the Cloud
In discussions with Walter Peretti and Franck Lenormand, a clear conclusion quickly emerged. The issue is no longer limited to governments or large public agencies. It now affects all businesses. Why? Because our dependence on the cloud has never been greater. For years, it has been a driver of performance and growth. Today, it is also becoming a source of risk.
Moreover, the risk is no longer just cyber-related. It is evolving. It is shifting. And it raises a simple question: what happens if access to services is interrupted? Added to this are very real economic pressures. Costs are rising, models are changing, and businesses must adapt in an increasingly constrained environment.
Open source, often presented as an alternative, offers solutions… but also has its own limitations. Here again, it’s all about balance.
Alumni and Students: Connecting in a New Way
The conference is over… but the evening isn’t!
Over drinks, the network came to life and took shape, much more powerfully than on LinkedIn: new connections, intergenerational exchanges, ideas flowing, and collaborations taking form. That evening, bonds formed naturally and magic happened, reminding us that the true strength of a network is measured in these moments of spontaneous and inspiring interaction.
All of this was made possible thanks to Wavestone, the event organizer, which hosted the gathering at its offices, complete with a breathtaking view. A memorable evening… and one that already has us eager to do it all over again!
