Collynn HE (2018), founder of an audiovisual production agency

In 2018, Collynn HE graduated from IIM Digital School's Masters in 3D Animation. Through a variety of experiences, he was able to find his real passion. After his studies, he founded his own agency specializing in audiovisual productions.

His career at IIM Digital School

During his studies at IIM, Collynn took part in several internships:

  • Cyanide: In his second year, he worked as an animator during the vacations, an internship he initiated himself to improve his skills in 3D animation applied to video games.
  • Don't Nod Entertainment: In his third year, he worked as a 3D animator on the video game Vampyr.
  • PULV (Soft Skills Department): He held the position of multimedia assistant, creating various media, mainly in the form of videos, for the department.

What about audiovisual production?

Today, Collynn describes himself as a "filmmaker", a more precise term than "videographer". His work covers the three major phases of audiovisual production:

  1. Pre-production: Planning the video, from the message to be communicated to the organizational aspects, including the number of cameras, human resources, shooting locations, and necessary authorizations.
  2. Production: Filming, implementing all pre-production preparations.
  3. Post-production: Editing videos, adding visual and sound effects, creating motion design and subtitling.

Although his initial studies didn't specifically prepare him for this profession, Collynn was able to transfer his audiovisual skills to the production of corporate videos.

Why become a filmmaker?

Collynn's interest in filmmaking was sparked by a hands-on experience during his studies at IIM Digital School, when he filmed an event at the school. Despite his inexperience, he found the work exciting and enjoyed the combination of technique and creativity. IIM gave him the confidence and tools to launch his career as an entrepreneur.

Missions within his agency Collynn Prod

Collynn's missions are diverse, mainly focused on corporate content. He has worked for large corporations and SMEs (Lamborghini, Altran, etc.), as well as for infopreneurs specializing in coaching, carrying out both semi-school and professional projects.

Being a filmmaker, he believes, means more than just producing films. It involves developing a unique know-how based on technical and creative skills, while meeting people and companies with diverse profiles. It's a job for people who are sociable and adventurous, willing to take risks to capture the money shot.

Among his most notable projects, Collynn mentions a personal film about his grandmother's last days, as well as a professional video for a web entrepreneur who generated over a million in sales at the end of a webinar thanks to this video.

Any advice?

Collynn attributes his success to the IIM Digital School, underlining the quality of the teaching by professionals, the attentiveness and support of those in charge, and a rich community life. He encourages future IIM students to be creative, have fun and have the courage to dare.
