Pierrick CHEVRON's (Promo 2020) innovative 3D accessibility project, born at IIM's Creativ' Lab
The IIM Digital School's Creativ' Lab, a space dedicated to innovation and prototyping, was recently the scene of an ambitious project aimed at improving accessibility in aviation.
Pierrick CHEVRON, who graduated from the IIM in 2020 and is now an associate professor, teamed up with Jem JAPITANA, a student in the Interactive UX Design Master's program, as part of a project carried out with the Castel-Mauboussin association, which specializes in aeronautical training for people with disabilities.
At a time when technology must also serve inclusion, they developed a 3D printing solution designed to facilitate access on board aircraft for people with reduced mobility.
Their partnership has resulted in a prototype that is functional, economical and easy to deploy in aircraft cabins, in response to a real need in the field. The result reflects the synergy between the skills acquired at school and the spirit of responsible innovation promoted by IIM.
